Scrub & Tree Clearance

Alaska utilises different machinery to tackle the varying density and type of scrub clearance required and site constraints. Our projects vary from small scale chainsaw work right through to landscape scale clearance for restoration, across a wide variety of habitat types.

Common constraints include soft/wet or highly sensitive ground, steep slopes, and awkward access. Scrub can be mulched / chipped then either left in situ, or collected and moved, or burnt.

Sensitive ‘one pass’ scrub/tree removal using our lightweight Malwa 650.2c forwarder, or LGP excavator and dumper.
Tractor mounted heavy-duty Ahwi flail to tackle thick, dense scrub or lighter-duty flails for less mature vegetation.
LGP excavator mounted ‘Osma’ flail to tackle light to medium size/density vegetation on soft ground.
LGP excavator mounted heavy-duty ‘Birdeye’ disc grinder to tackle large, dense vegetation and stump grinding.
Kori & birdeye - for sites where terrestrial access is difficult, or ground conditions are
Airburner: ‘rip & burn’
Chippers - can be used for lop & top, or to chip larger scrub. Can be used for biomass removal off site
Tractors & trailers for cordwood removal
Chainsaw assistance

Sadly the bellow machine died a fiery death, We expect to have the replacement running for the 2017 season.
