Kori amphibious excavators and carrier

Although we refer to our amphibious excavators as “Kori”, it is only the undercarriage that is made by Kori; the upper structure being, in this case, a conventional Volvo 21 tonne excavator. We bought ours to access scrub clearance sites in Norfolk to which there was no terrestrial access. Under such conditions the amphibious excavator offers two benefits;1. We can get a serious workhorse onto a site otherwise inaccessible to any machinery at all2. On such very treacherous sites we can be sure that we will not lose an excavator when we hit asoft spot.

The excavators are fully amphibious, but should not be used for excavation when fully floating.Although the tracks will propel it across small still water bodies, for longer distances or in flowing waters assistance in the form of a tug or outboard is essential.

We also use the amphibious excavators in shallow lakes and lagoons, too deep for conventional excavators, but too shallow for marine equipment.Ofter working with the amphibious excavators is an amphibious tracked carrier with a 6.5 tonne payload, used either as a working platform for other equipment, or as a general load carrier
